WW2 Pacific Front Part 1

You can read my article on ww2 European front and interwar periods before ww2.

On 18th Sept 1931, some days before the Japanese staged an incident at Mukedan and started an invasion of Manchuria which in some months they conquered all of Manchuria with help of some Chinese collaborators which includes the last Chinese emperor of the Qing dynasty Puyi then they started preparing to march towards Beijing but the Chinese were not in a position to continue the war so the Chinese make peace with the Japanese. In the following years in the Chinese mainland, many warlords formed up which includes a Chinese communist party breaking off from china and starting its own country. In the following years, the Japanese made many improvements to its military and start building the world's most powerful battleship Yamato and its sister ship Musashi.

On July 7th the Japanese and Chinese clased at Marco polo bridge and which turns out to the full-scale invasion of China by the Japanese and the forming of the Chinese united front and suspending the ongoing civil war between Nationalist China and CPC. The Japanese quickly took Beijing from the Chinese and started to push towards the coastal areas. 1 month later on 23rd August the Japanese landed in shanghai and started pushing towards the Chinese capital Nanjing which turns out to be successful and one incident took placed in china while the American ships were evacuating civilians from the war zone they were attacked by Japanese planes which 2 US sailors and one civilian were killed and 11 seriously wounded. By 1940 the Japanese have controlled most of the Chinese coastal province.

At the starting of 1940, the Americans started building new ships because of the inevitable war with the axis, and in March 1941 FDR passed the lend-lease act where the Americans supply the allies and later the soviets with food, war materials, and oil, etc In July the Japanese took french Indochina from Vichy France which made the relation with American even worse and On August 1st The Americans issued an oil embargo to the Japanese and which make the things more complicated and because of this.

On Nov 30th the Japanese Fleet Kido-Butai left their ports at Tokyo, Japan which consist of 6 fleet carriers escorted by battleships, cruisers, and destroyers commanded by Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto and Chuichi Nagumo. They reached Pearl harbor in 1 week and On Dec 7th, 1941 a date which will live in infamy the Japanese launched their surprise attack on pearl harbor at 7:40 am and their objectives were to destroy carriers which luckily at that day there was no carrier present at that day the second objective was to destroy battleships which they did around 8-9 battleships were sunken or damaged and the third objective was to immobilize the harbor for 6 months which they did because the imperial high command estimated that it will take 6 months for the conquest of Asia and after they will go in the defense one day after the attack President Franklin Delano Roosevelt gave a speech and asked the congress to declare war on Japan.
